The Millet Bird Sanctuary trail, located near the Roseau Valley and the villages of Vanard and Millet, is home to over 30 bird species, including five endemic to St. Lucia: the Parrot, Oriole, Pewee, Black Finch, and Warbler. The 1¾-mile (2.8 km) trail, taking about 2 hours to complete, offers a moderate to strenuous hike with fresh air, fragrant mosses, and the scent of the Bois Lansans tree. The trail features views of Mount Gimie, the island’s highest peak, and the Roseau Dam, the largest in the Eastern Caribbean. A knowledgeable forestry guide accompanies hikers.
