We had an Air Canada Vacation Package at the Royalton All Inclusive. We were assigned a representative from Spice Travel & Tours Attractions that met with us the following day of arrival. Christine was gracious enough to explain how the excursions were handled related to Air Canada Vacations. She provided details about; Half-day tours, Day Trips to Soufriere, Nature & Adventure, Sports, Pleasure & Fun and High-lights and Excitement. Price are per person in US Dollars. We felt very confident in our selection of the excursions that were made available to us. We decided on two; Land & Sea and Rainforest Zipline/Tram. We paid for them on sight which was converted to Caribbean Eastern dollars (XCD). There was a certain amount of organization on the part of Spice Travel, as there are minimums required for some excursions therefore it pays to be flexible.
Land & Sea was on our Anniversary and ending up being the best and worst day possible. We started off on the land where we were able to get an awesome insight into the Westside of the island. We stopped briefly for rum tasting and the views were spectacular. We ended up at the Mud baths, where we were cooled off by the warm mud and cleansed it off in the hot springs. Our skin was soft for at least 3 days. Then we were brought to the waterfalls (Diamond I believe) that washed off all the mud and was refreshingly cool. Our next stop was onto the catamaran to take us back up to the north part of the island via the Westside. Here is where my slight tragedy occurred. While we stopped for a 45 minute snorkelling, unbeknownst to me the waves coming into shore were more exuberant than anticipated. Silly me I was wearing my glasses and hat. Whoosh, before I knew it both were swept away. Luckily I immediately notified the staff and after some searching my glasses were found under the boat amongst some rocks. What a relief, now I can see my husband's face at our Anniversary dinner. Everyone on the boat was awesome and helped out any way they could. Thanks to all of you again, I can never repay you. I do miss my neat foldable hat, but I realized later that I also lost my ruby/diamond ring. So be on the lookout, it is an old one! The anniversary dinner went off without a hitch, where I was able to gaze lovingly in my husband's eyes.
Rainforest Zip Tram is a must do. You get everything with this fun, exciting, adventurous excursion. The Tram ride gives you insight into the height and range of the island. The rainforest was unbelievable and I couldn't believe that I was able to experience it in this fashion. I liked that this company is all about safety. I have been ziplining before, but this one really emphasizes the importance of safety. There is a limitation on waist size, so if it is under 21" you won't be able to attend (that's for all those parents out there). Our guides were extremely informative, funny and playful.
They even give you a 'tutorial' and 'try out' zipline. If you aren't comfortable with this one, now is your time to back out. There is some slight hiking required, but it is your opportunity to see all the rainforest treasures up close.
So for all those with Air Canada Vacation Packages, do not miss out meeting your Spice representative as they are a wealth of information and are available to help your trip be its best. I know that Christine did that for us. Well done!
